bird pinny

A friend recently had a gorgeous baby girl Neve,
and this was the outfit I made for her to grow into.
She has her own sewing business here, making beautiful clothes for little people.
The pinny is from Ottobre 1/08. I have made this one a couple of times before here and here, and its such a great pattern. It amazing how different you can make the same pattern, just by changing the fabric, adding pockets or applique etc. The leggings were from Ottobre 3/09.

And don't you just love the bird fabric! That fabric shop I was telling you about a few posts ago, has relocated even closer to my house. Yep, dangerous huh! I am rather excited. Needless to say, the bird fabric (and the cute polka dot binding) was purchased there last week. Give them another month or so and they will be sooo sick of me...haha!

rainy day prints

Yesterday was an indoor day, thanks again to the weather.
We did some printing with the end of toilet paper rolls, some folded into shapes for variety.
Just thought I would share, because sometimes when your stuck indoors with small children, it can be tough coming up with an easy craft to keep them amused!

cotton knit

Thank you so much for all your kind comments on the neckerchiefs. I know a lot of mums find it hard to source cute and affordable boys clothes, and I think the neckerchief bibs are perfect for adding that extra something to a plain outfit.
Here's a little jumper I finished over the weekend. It was suppose to be a 9 month size, but fits my rather chunky 3 month old perfectly. I checked the tension and all, and its one stitch out over 10cm, so nothing major. Must just be a fitted pattern.

The pattern is from this book...so worth buying!
I also knitted the cross over cardi from there.
And it's knitted in cotton which is a first for me. Was beautiful and soft to knit with, and I figured a little more seasonally appropriate with our warmer climate.
Don't look too close, my knitting is far from perfect!

Little Jude is 3 months old today...where oh where has my newborn gone!
He rolled from his back to tummy yesterday, weighs in at 7.4kg and has discovered how useful his hands can be at whacking and grabbing the toys on his playgym.
I love this playgym. We purchased it at Ikea, and it is the most used toy in the house at the moment. Even the girls lie under it and play!

neckerchiefs

A few weeks back I stumbled across a local quilting fabric shop, after a tip off from a friend. Cant believe it's taken me years to discover it! We ended up coming home with a few pieces of boy fabric to make the resident dribbler of the house some bibs.
These were so simple to make. And here's the link for the pattern if you want to make some for the dribbler/chucker in your house.
I did shrink the measurements slightly...which I shouldn't have done. Still fits and looks cute, but next time I would keep the actual measurements on the pattern.

Cant get enough of this boy:)

dino pants

Its about time I got my act together and did some sewing for the boy.
Pockets on these pants were cut out of a 000 shirt that no longer fits this growing babe.
I thought the fabric was just the cutest, and am hoping to have enough left to put on a bigger tee for him.
And what is it with grey marle? Goes with everything, especially baby blue. Love it.
Pants pattern is from Ottobre 1/2009.
